The Orpheus Sinfonia's third performance at Radley Farm, the home of the Chairman of the Orpheus Foundation Trust, is themed Music for an English Summer Evening. The concert features the sounds of wasps, birds and the magic of the countryside in summer. Thomas Carroll conducts and is joined by his partner Tamsin Waley-Cohen for Vaughan Williams' exquisite The Lark Ascending. The sounds of old English folk melodies adorn the popular English Folk Song Suite and Five Variants of 'Dives and Lazarus', before a performance of Elgar's epic Enigma Variations. Guests are, as always, welcome to picnic in the grounds at Radley from 4pm before enjoying the performance, which commences at 6pm. There will be an interval of one hour and guests are welcome to continue picnicking both during this and after the performance.

“As well as being a brilliant experience and one where we were able to encounter the challenges of playing out-of-doors, the Radley Farm concert was without a doubt one of the highlights of my year. It would definitely rank among my top three gigs ever!”
