Orpheus Foundation’s annual Cadogan Hall concert is a must-see highlight of the calendar. This year the
Orpheus Sinfonia - an orchestra for some of the finest young professional musicians in central London - will be eighty players strong. The orchestra’s reputation for energy and panache will be in its element for Prokofiev’s dramatic and passionate ‘Romeo and Juliet.’
The soloist in Dvorak’s timelessly popular Cello Concerto will be the 25-year old Belarusian Aleksei Kiseliov. Heralded by the orchestra’s patron Dame Judi Dench as “absolutely sublime,” the performance marks this magnificent young cellist’s Cadogan Hall concerto début. Aleksei will be performing on a splendid Italian cello, kindly lent to him especially for the concert by Florian Leonhard.
The Orpheus Sinfonia’s Cadogan Hall concert was last year described as being “full of fire and brimstone” and as “the most exquisite sound imaginable.” Nicholas Collon, who recently featured in the BBC’s ‘Gareth goes to Glyndebourne’, takes the baton for a concert which is simply not to be missed!
“Aleksei Kiseliov’s performances are just absolutely sublime!”
Dame Judi Dench, CH DBE -
Patron, Orpheus Foundation
“Nicholas Collon recreated the magical textures of this Ligeti score, the gossamer threads, crystalline chords and dancing, shimmering, passages were simply beguiling.”
