About
Founded in 2009, Orpheus Sinfonia is one of London’s most vibrant and inspiring orchestras, attracting exceptional musicians, as we work to create and sustain the future music, under the artistic direction of international cellist and conductor Thomas Carroll.
Book the Orchestra
Orpheus has absolutely loved performing for a wide array of events over recent years: from Blenheim Palace to Windsor Castle; The Ritz to the Mandarin Oriental; atop a double-decker bus for the Lord Mayor’s Parade to the Tate Modern.
brand new Foundation Programme launched
After more than a decade of existence and following the impact of covid, Orpheus has developed a brand new structured Foundation Programme arising out of what we’ve come to learn is critically essential to succeed. This new programme gives musicians of all backgrounds their first steps into professional careers: a juncture to learn how to work and create livelihoods. It has an extraordinary, especially in these critical arts funding times, 5 year commitment of support by the Skyrme Hart Charitable Trust, for which we are immensely grateful.

Discover the connections between art and music in a major new partnership between Orpheus Sinfonia and the Wallace Collection.
Through five intimate performances filmed within the splendour of Hertford House, we invite you to explore the styles, forms and compositions that unite music – performed live in the Wallace Collection galleries during lockdown – with paintings, decorative arts, and arms and armour.
With concise introductions from Wallace Collection Director, Dr Xavier Bray, alongside Orpheus Sinfonia’s Artistic team, Thomas Carroll and Rosemary Taylor, each premier broadcast features Orpheus Sinfonia musicians performing a specially-selected repertoire that brings the synergy of art and music into focus.
