Multiplay
Multiplay
Orpheus Sinfonia has developed a variety of interactive outreach projects, under its innovative MULTIPLAY programme. Music is for all, and all can play a part in it no matter where they are or who they are.
We strongly believe in our responsibility to reach new audiences with our performances which provide invaluable experience for our young musicians and gives great pleasure and enjoyment to many. We address young people’s lack of musical access (evidenced in gov reports) by increasing provision & availability of creative opportunity, through invigorating innovative approaches.
We hold close to heart the power of music in well-being and relief, and work with various partner organisations to bring that to those in need, such as the elderly, vulnerable and isolated.
Our challenge is to present some of the finest compositions ever written to audiences who are unfamiliar with the concert hall, giving them access to a whole new world of music and musicians.
All of our outreach projects are individually and innovatively tailored to the specific occasion and can incorporate many broad ranging elements; from drawing together the wider curriculum in innovative activity to bringing a ray of light to a darkest hour.
Adjourned but Still in Session
Adjourned but Still in Session is our brand-new platform developed to enable performance in the time of Coronavirus. We bring you online recitals performed from our homes to you, enabling our freelance musicians to play on, and you to enjoy some beautiful music, providing momentary relief from the current unprecedented situation and supporting your well-being.
With the onset of Covid-19, and the restriction of all live events, Orpheus was determined to continue bringing music to young people, ensuring they don’t lose out on creative opportunity at this time. We took Multiplay online, initially with speed-meet the orchestra, introductory and fascinating ideas. We have further content in the pipeline – coming soon: interactive projects and DIY musical instruments at home!
