“The Legend Reborn in a Hampshire Meadow”
Situated in the beautiful surroundings of the Hampshire countryside, this open-air performance on The Mount opposite Charles Kingsley’s home will include thrilling giant puppetry, aerial artists and a dance troupe. A spectacular for the entire family.
The Andromeda legend was adapted into a poem by Kingsley and first published in 1858. Set to music in 1905 by Cyril Rootham (1875-1938), it was effectively ‘lost’ for over 100 years. This production features an exciting new orchestration by Dan Keen, commissioned specifically for the Charles Kinglsey 200 Festival.
