Tredici Chamber Choir’s latest collaboration with Orpheus Sinfonia highlights choral masterpieces by Salzburg’s two most illustrious composers, baroque and classical.  Biber was a child of the Thirty Years War and his Requiem in F minor harks back to its horrors: sombre and fearful, it is both intimate and apocalyptic, while Mozart’s glorious Coronation Mass, written at the height of his powers, acquired its name as the music of choice for every coronation in central Europe. The programme also features Mozart’s motet Ave Verum Corpus, a perfect miniature composed only six months before his death at thirty-five, and the brilliant early Te Deum which Haydn composed in honour of his patron, Prince Nikolaus Esterházy.
