Britten, Korth and guests from BBC

Tuesday 28th May, 2013 7:30PM

St. George’s Church, Hanover Square, London W1S 1FX

In memory of Christine Korth

The Orpheus Sinfonia will be joined by Nicholas Korth (Principal Horn, BBC Symphony Orchestra), Nigel Robson (tenor), Olivia Robinson (soprano), Thomas Carroll (cello, conductor) and Michael Thompson (conductor) in a programme to mark the centenary of Benjamin Britten’s birth.  Nicholas Korth’s song cycle Like Shining from Shook Foil which sets poems by Gerard Manley Hopkins is an evocative work, and the Orpheus Sinfonia will premiere another Korth work Harmoniae Naturales IV “Luminescence”.  The collaboration between the young stars of the Orpheus Sinfonia and the established professionals such as Michael Thompson and Olivia Robinson will make for an inspired evening of music.
