Emmanuel Despax with the Orpheus Sinfonia

Thursday 25th April, 2013 7:30PM

Cadogan Hall, 5 Sloane Terrace, London SW1X 9DQ

‘Poetry fused with breathtaking technical perfection’ is how the brilliant young French pianist Emmanuel Despax was described after a recent concert at the Louvre. Tonight he joins the Orpheus Sinfonia in three piano concertos including a world premiere.

Stephen Goss’s accessible new piano concerto is inspired by the extraordinary architecture, sculpture and designs of Heatherwick Studio.

The concerto was specially commissioned by SW Mitchell Capital for Emmanuel Despax.

The programme begins with Beethoven’s joyous First Symphony and concludes with two jewels of the Romantic virtuoso piano concerto repertoire. Tonight’s concert will be recorded live for future release on Signum Classics.

First classical concert for iPad and Tablet audience.
