With grateful thanks for the support of the Cultural Recovery Fund and Arts Council England, who enable Orpheus’ activity and continued existence at this time.

With the onset of the Covid-19 Pandemic, all live events were cancelled with immediate and devastating effect for all those involved in the arts sector. Not only has this affected the professionals who provide creative services and performances, but also the engagement with general public and audiences.

Adjourned but Still in Session was Orpheus’ answer to survival; conceived to provide personalised 30-minute performances online, enabling the continuation and enjoyment of music to a wider audience, in the safety and comfort of their own home while supporting our freelance musicians to perform from their homes.

As the restrictions continued to change, our project has evolved to sit at the forefront of limitation. Adjourned: Synergy provides an opportunity to develop this further.

Giving our musicians a chance to curate their own programmes and collaborating in partnership with galleries and extraordinary spaces, we seek to explore the synergy of art forms in performances in harmony with those venues and themes. Synergy is drawn together through conceiving musical programmes that provide a submersive experience directly inspired and influenced by the art, architecture, heritage, spaces and themes through which they are performed.

Orpheus welcomes opportunities for exploration of synergy in joint curation of programmes, interviews with arts professionals and gallery personnel and would be delighted to discuss these to offer a valuable portfolio and array of content to the series.

All income will go direct to supporting musicians, as is Orpheus Sinfonia’s charitable raison d’etre, striving to enable the successful careers of exceptional musicians. At this incredibly difficult time in light of the impact of Covid-19 your support is crucial and truly will make a significant difference.
