The Power of Nature
Thursday 28th May, 2015 7:30PM
St. George’s Church, Hanover Square, London W1S 1FX
Nature and classical music seem to go hand in hand as so many composers have turned to nature for inspiration and comfort. Beethoven once wrote that he loved a tree more than a man, as in his years of deafness nature was a source of great comfort and healing for him. Schumann wrote pieces inspired by nature as did numerous composers such as Mendelssohn. Join us and enjoy complete performances of Schumann’s Rhenish symphony as well as Mendelssohn’s Hebrides Overture.
